Take care of your most important information with our various backup solutions, from tape backups, through the disk, and even in the cloud.
Information protection through backup:
At present, the most valuable asset we have in our company ceased to be something physical, and it became something intangible, information.
That is why more and more the issue of information protection comes to light, we have important threats such as:
Trojan virus:
It is called a Trojan horse, or Trojan, to malicious software that is presented to the user as a seemingly legitimate and harmless program, but which, when executed, gives an attacker remote access to the infected computer.
Trojans can perform different tasks, but, in most cases, they create a backdoor (in English backdoor) that allows remote administration to an unauthorized user.
For this and other computer hazards, it is essential to have a backup scheme ready to protect your information.
There are several backup schemes:
Direct backup to magnetic tapes
This type of backup is used to generate an “archiving” that is a long-term backup, this is because it is done on magnetic tapes; magnetic tapes store information in a durable, high capacity and very cheap environment; but very low speed.
This means that the magnetic tapes will not allow an adequate recovery time (RTO) suitable for the highest needs, leaving the user exposed to a very long time before completing a restoration from the last backup. However, as we mentioned earlier, this backup provides a very broad objective recovery point (RPO) and you can get information from many years ago, ideal for keeping those records that are not used very often but should be stored in some place.
In order to run this type of backup, it is necessary to have both special hardware to use magnetic tapes such as the HPE StoreEver MSL, HPE StoreEver Autoloader HPE StoreEver RDX, HPE StoreEver VTL family computers that allow you to save information on tape; as well as a backup software such as HPE Data Protector that will allow you to manage and administer the use of magnetic tapes in the most efficient way.
Direct disk backup (HDD, SSD)
In this backup scheme, unlike magnetic tape backup, the disk (HDD, SDD) is used as a means to store the information generated from the backup. The difference against the backing of magnetic tapes lies in the speed. The objective recovery time (RTO) of the backup is much higher compared to the tapes, in specific scenarios up to 50 times faster, this means that you can have your information back after a disaster quickly using disk instead of tape. The counterpart comes at the point of objective recovery (RPO) since it is usually shorter backup and not so long ago that it is recommended to use with this backup scheme, this is due to the cost of storing large volumes of information from backup in this medium.
For this scheme it is also essential to use a Backup Software such as HPE Data Protector to be able to manage the entire backup process and also a team specialized in this type of backup
Cloud backup
This type of Backup scheme is the most recent, but that does not mean that it differs from the previous ones.
This means that whatever type of cloud backup you have, is supported by 1 of the 3 schemes that we have already mentioned.
The only difference is that it will not be hosted locally if not with the provider that is providing the service, the information will travel through the network and be stored and managed by the provider, which is why it is very important that cloud backup be offered and purchased with a trusted provider, such as Hewlett Packard Enterprise, which is because if you are not sure what happens to your information with the provider, it is as risky as not backing up.
One of the best solutions in the market for PC and laptop backup comes hand in hand with HPE Connected Backup and HPE Connected MX from Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where they secure your information in a private, secure and enterprise cloud, designed for more complex or the most basic needs of any company from 5 users to tens of thousands.
